Are you Wired ?

I was waiting for work last week in Baltimore at my Mom's house and looked out the bedroom window and was thinking to myself have they added new lines or have I just been out of the "City" for long enough now that I notice things that normally I would just be used to seeing ...... I felt like I was caught in a spiders web with all the phone, cable, and powerlines going in every direction .

Gosh, but that is a lot of wires. I wish we had better ways of going underground with our cables. The changeover would rip up the streets and create traffic hell for a while, but it'd be worth it in the end, IMO. I think, based on this one image, that you are unanimously elected the first poster child of all overly wired communities... lol.

Definitely a lot of wires gong on there Rob!!! I think we so easily look past the modern day ugliness because we see it so often and then like you , one day look out and wonder where all those darn ugly waires came from!!!?? hahahaha.. Great capture and thanks for sharing

The reason these facilities are not underground is because putting them underground costs A LOT more than putting them overhead. And where I live, if these facilities were to be put underground, the utility companies would then charge everyone for their service drops, which would also have to go underground. This could easily run anywhere from $500 to $3000 in a neighborhood like this, depending on the path, and many people decide the view isn't so bad when they are presented with such a prospect.
