I know.... I know... I am going to BURN in HELL !!! but when I saw this while zooming in , I thought that Mary and Jesus must be Part of the Black HOLE !! ...lol

Incase you are not aware of what these are , the are bird deterants .....I wonder if it actually works to keep the pidgens off of the statues ?

@Markus: I like the Hawk Idea myself ....lol.... but I guess maybe they didn't kave the mesh like that back when this was done ...... probably been like this for over 20 years

This is really another non-sense creation of humanity! I think Jesus or Mary would have not mind having some pigeon SStepping on their arms, shoulders, or heads... Nah! What else can one say?

I have not seen that before, i think it adds a certain creepy element to the statures. I think it gives the statures a different feel humm no pun intended there. Then again thinking about the birds taking a potty on them really does not sound that attractive either. Humm... i think as an artist tho if i had something so precious, meaningful and sacred - especially to a large number of people i would have to come up with a different solution. I think this takes away the true meaning of what they represent to most people.

BTW - great capture of such a subject.
